I've always wanted to be a writer (don't most bloggers?) Now that I'm "retired" it seemed like a good time to start. I'm not really retired (am I?) My husband, David, said it was more accurate than "laid off." It certainly sounds nicer. The problem is, I'm not ready to retire. So now I have to figure out what I want to do with my life.
It's not like I don't have options. I have a few degrees (speech, law, educational administration) that I could fall back on. But at this point in my life, I'd like to feel passionate about what I do, and I only want to work part time. Until I get a brilliant idea, I'm starting to exercise each day (good for me!) and organize all those things I never seem to find time to do (the recipes I've collected, all my old photographs before everything went digital, the basement, the attic, the garage......) Wow, I'm exhausted just looking at that list!
Today I start on the recipe folder. It's more work that you might think. Plus, I'm getting my taxes done this afternoon. Almost as much fun as a root canal, yes?
Tune in tomorrow to find out more about me and I stumble through this unplanned, unanticipated and unwelcome stage of my life.
